Common Problems of LED Beads

In the process of life and production, we often encounter some small problems with LED lamp beads. Here is a brief explanation of the reasons. The LED lamp bead is a diode, which can work with a positive conduction voltage, generally 2-3.5V. In addition, the current can control the brightness of the LED lamp bead. LED lamp beads only convert electric energy into light energy.

Yellow LED lamp beads

The yellowing of LED outer sealing adhesive is mostly caused by the mismatch between epoxy resin and curing agent, but it cannot be ruled out that the outer sealing adhesive is baked for too long. Solution: purchase a complete set of external sealing glue and curing agent, pay attention to production control, operate strictly according to the operation instructions, and avoid reasons such as too long or insufficient baking time. This situation is well controlled.

LED lamp bead discoloration

1. Cause of encapsulation adhesive: residual foreign matters in the encapsulation adhesive and colloid discoloration of the encapsulation adhesive due to chemical erosion

2. Support cause: foreign matters contaminate the support, support corrosion, and poor support coating quality

Light attenuation: poor heat conduction of iron support; Yellowing of epoxy resin; The contact between chip and bracket is not close enough; Large chip attenuation.


The lamp bead is burnt out

1. The upper and lower two filaments are called gold in our industry. Pure gold is used for conducting electricity. Two positive electrodes and two negative electrodes. A really good product will have a fifth wire, which is welded to Zener for protection

2. When the filament is short, it has clearly told you that your lamp has been burned by high current, which is equivalent to an open circuit

3. The driving current of high-power 1W is about 350ma, and the working voltage is between 3.2-3.6V. Please pay attention when using, because excessive current will directly burn the lamp beads

4. Generally, the aluminum base plate of three 1W lamps is driven by 12V or so, perhaps a constant current source or a 12V drive power supply is missing

Leakage of LED lamp beads: the equipment is not grounded, and the workers do not take anti-static measures, resulting in improper electrostatic protection. Secondly, during the packaging process, the wire PAD was misaligned, and finally, there was a problem with the chip itself.
